We appreciated this as it had gotten very cold outside! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. Her note directed us to our room, which was cozy and toasty. She was out getting goodies for breakfast when we arrived (as we hadn't told her our exact arrival time). The innkeeper, Barbara, was warm and welcoming. My husband and I stayed here on our way to meet friends in town at Christmastime. She may have been a beauty in her day… but that shipped has sailed and so should you if you are even remotely considering staying here.… The only thing missing was Norman Bates.and he may be living in the basement! If this is Clinton County’s idea of “the best of the best”…they need to revisit and see for themselves the sorry state this bed and breakfast is in. I was prepared to sleep in our car that night as long as it got us away from this place. An alcoholic who met my husband at the top of the stairs wrapped in a towel(Barbara herself told us he was an alcoholic and she said it was time for her to ask him to leave). There was a chronic lunger hocking up his lung on the back porch. They offer no keys to lock your doors.the rooms are filthy, dated, broken lamp shades, musky nursing home-ish odor in entire house. There were so many signs telling us this was a mistake…but not until we arrived back to this dump (after I walked into town to buy a candle at the dollar general to mask the awful odor in our room) and realized someone had been in our room and brushed their teeth in our sink did I announce…we are outta here! Barbara the innkeeper was of course shocked! Telling me that she herself chloroxed our toilet and that perhaps someone mistakenly thought our room was theirs. When you do check in and see the room and your gut tells you don’t bother unpacking…listen to it. When your gut tells you to run the other way when you step into this “inn”…listen to it. Holy Cow…lesson learned…when your gut tells you don’t even bother getting out of the car upon arrival to this “inn” listen to it. Instead, travel back in time and immerse yourself in Lock Haven's history by booking a stay at Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast. If you ever come to Lock Haven, don't bother with the traditional hotels. Her kind and welcoming personality made my over all experience at Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast even better than what I expected. Over breakfast, we even had an interesting conversation about Lock Haven's history. She was very accommodating to any request I had. Her friendly and warm personality immediately made me feel welcome in this beautiful home. Adding to all this is the owner herself, Barbara. That's how beautiful the Victorian elegance of the rooms are. At Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast, however, I felt that simply sitting in my room was itself a memorable experience. Usually when I travel, I try to stay outside as much as possible since there is nothing worth doing in the hotel. If you're a history lover like myself, you will feel like it's the late 1800s while you stay in your room. One of the advantages of staying here, rather than staying in a traditional hotel, is that staying in Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast is itself a great experience. Don't worry, you won't need to use chamber pots here!). The house was built in 1859 and today the entire interior is set up to look like it's the late 1800s (the bathrooms, however, are relatively modern, which is a plus. I booked a night at Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast and it was worth every penny. So naturally, when I came back here to visit, I knew I wanted to stay in one of these historic buildings. I had gone to college at Lock Haven University 10+ years ago and had always been in love with the town's Victorian style homes. I stayed here for the night as I was passing through the area. Next time I stay there I must bring my fishing rod! I’m sure you will be able to find something for everyone. The shopping downtown is only minutes away on foot. With some of the best entertainment you’ll ever see. There is an amphitheater located minutes away on the riverside. There is a gorgeous walking trail 1 minute from the Bed and Breakfast that follows along the river for over 4 miles. It is located right on the beautiful West Branch of the Susquehanna River. This place makes you feel as one of the family. The interior and rooms are very nice with very comfortable The host Barbara is one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. Entering this beautiful historic building is like going back in time.
